For the past two years, I have worked for Kivukoni School, assisting in developing their environmental education curriculum. I work predominantly with the early years curriculum through play-based learning and influence from the Earth education movement, aiming to deepen the children's sense of kinship and love for the natural world. In 2023, my work on the curriculum was noticed and added to the KAYA Connect projects toolbox and featured in Elsa Kents' book 'Reconecting School to Nature'. This project is part of a new national incentive, led by the LEAF project, to restore the coastal biodiversity hotspot and ensure that every school in Kenya has a nature teacher. So far, this toolbox has been delivered successfully to over 10,000 children across the Kenyan coast.
